Having narrowed your choice down to probably a couple of potential breeds (which we hope includes Shetlands!), you will now wish to see some actual cows in the flesh and talk to owners about their experiences.

Although some of our members do show Shetlands, this is not a significant activity for most of us.  In any case, the best way to see our cattle is in their working environment - on the farm or smallholding – where you have the opportunity to see at first hand what they are capable of.

Our members are widely distributed throughout the UK, including Northern Ireland and some Scottish islands and most are only too pleased to be asked to show off their cherished animals and be given the chance to talk “shop”.

In addition, members with stock for immediate or future sale, are encouraged to provide these details to the Association Secretary.  He is therefore in a good position either to put you in touch with breeders in your area who would be happy to show you their stock, or to provide information on stock for sale.

If you wish to take advantage of this facility, please .
